Aixtek is a Boston-based consulting practice that develops fluidic devices, instruments and processes with a focus on the early stages of product development. In past projects, we have designed, made and tested:
- fluidic cartridges for performing multiple immunoassays;
- micropost arrays for the affinity capture and size-based separation of white cells from whole blood;
- cold-formed foil blisters for long-term storage and on-demand release of liquid reagents;
- low-cost dispense systems for sub-microliter fluid delivery;
- microfluidic chip manifolds;
- embossing and bonding presses for forming and lidding plastic, microfluidic chips;
- anodic bonders for lidding silicon microfluidic chips with glass;
- instruments for gas-based characterization of microfluidic devices;
- pressure sources for ripple-free fluid pumping;
- pneumatic, peristaltic and syringe-based instruments with embedded microprocessors for controlling flow through microfluidic systems.
